Is 2 part varnish needed for kr spars and boat or is spar varnish ok

A good quality spar varnish should be sufficient to coat all areas, such
as inside the spars before closing, inside the tail area, etc., that
will not later see epoxy. Any area that will later see epoxy, such as
spar caps and shear web glue surfaces, should be left bare until epoxy
is used. Fill the wing attach fitting bolt holes with epoxy and allow
to soak in for a minute of two before inserting the bolts. Coat the
wood side of the fittings and spar surface with epoxy also. If there is
such a thing as varnish with UV protection you might want to go that
route although most all areas with varnish will never again see the
light of day. Take all the advise given and use your best judgement.
