I’m just setting up my tail plane on my 0200, KR2SS. 14.6 ft. firewall to tail
post (or 4.4 m)
You guys flying a stretched Kr2s. What incidence did you work out please.?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
My 0-200 powered KR is stretched 24 inches over a standard KR2, has the
RAF 48 airfoil at 3.5 degrees, 3 degree washout, stock KR horizontal /
elevator (flat, no airfoil shape) set at "zero" degrees +/-. I note
very little trim tab deflection after landing (80 mph approach) but if I
take off with zero trim and let go of the stick at cruise 140 /150 mph,
the nose pitches down, almost violently. I think the info in Mark's
post is pretty close even though he had a different airfoil on the
horizontal, main wing, and slightly less wing incidence. I think I'd go
with about -1 to -1.5 degree incidence on the horizontal. That may not
be "exactly" right but it would be close enough that you'll not think
you could have done much better without detailed experimenting. The
necessary trim changes with load and speed so there is no "one" perfect
setting. That's why we have adjustable trim. Target getting it right
for cruise.
