Bill has flown a number of demo rides in his Saberwing today.  One more KR from Jackson, IL arrived today.  I'll get a photo and post tonight after the awards.

The mini tri-gear plane is a modified KR-1 that is widened by 4" and has a 2SI 3 cyl 2 stroke engine.  Lots of small innovations to suit the builder's desires.  It's a one off KR Variant, that was ready to fly and has been taxi tested, but one of the 4 blades on his prop wasn't tracking properly, so he's waiting for a new prop to be delivered before it flies.  It has a folding wing design and can be easily folded and trailered.  He trailered it in from about 40 miles away.

Ken Henderson.  You should be here.  Roger Baalman and Rob Schmitt have both flown a significant number of KR builders in the last day or so.  This may not be the best attended KR Gathering ever, but it has certainly been a very enjoyable and pleasant Gathering.  Numberous RVs and tents out in the campground, 12 KRs as well as several other planes out on the flight line.  No question the group is getting older, but there are also a number of younger builders that are here to learn from us old folks.  Seems it was 21 years ago that I was awarded Youngest KR Pilot at the KR Gathering.

Subject: Re: KR> Plane Photos from Arrival day
I have been watching Bills Saberwing videos and Im very interested in this
being my next build. Or, I want to copy Mark Jones last KR build as I have
always thought it was the perfect example of the way to do it. I think it
should have been called a KR2-SW and the evolution of a KR.
Now Im really tic'd at myself for not being able to be there. Its been
years and it seems that business always gets in the way of me making it
back. One vacation in the last 20 plus years and that was 12 years ago.
I hope everyone is enjoying the gathering and please keep the pics and
information coming. Hooe someone does some videos for youtube.
