I think you do have something wrong somewhere. The data sheet says it
will handle 80 amps continuous.
Check the drawing at
http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pdf/11-03161draw.pdf to insure it
is wired correctly. The battery source should hook to the "BAT"
terminal, the other terminal to the "load" and you "ground" the coil
terminal to energize the relay.
An yes, for the price I'd get a new one. No way to tell what damage the
heat has caused. You don't want it to fail at some point in flight.
