Paul, I have flown a couple of KRs. I do not think nose weight makes a big difference. Could it mean a bit more susceptibility to shimmy? Possibly. I did have issues with that but they were not caused by the weight. Looking at the empty weight range by those who replied, you had a 100+ lb difference (665-771lbs). That is a 14% delta attributable just to building style and preference! My bird is relatively light, weighing under 700lbs, yet she has a high nose weight compared to most. No big deal. Still in CG range. If you are applying sound principles to your building everything will work out. iMs, Zip -----Original Message----- From: "Ppaulvsk via KRnet" <krnet@list.krnet.org> Sent: Saturday, June 16, 2018 3:54am To: "KRnet" <krnet@list.krnet.org> Cc: "Ppaulvsk" <ppaul...@gmail.com> Subject: Re: KR> Nose gear weight
Thanks for all the replies. It's interesting how all the weights ratios between the mains and the nose are different with everyone. I wonder if there's a collation between that ratio and how easy it is to lift the nose off or letting it down on to the runway.
