We recently had some discussion about the IO-240 Continental. I was not
aware that there ever was an 0-240 and it was in fact used in the French
built C-150s. See info below. Seems to me that would be a great seller
in today's experimental market.

The 130 hp (97 kW) O-240 was a new engine design derived from the
six-cylinder Continental O-360
<https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Continental_IO-360> and
introduced in 1971. It is generally similar in overall dimensions to the
Continental O-200
<https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Continental_O-200>, but with a
higher 8.5:1 compression ratio, designed to run on 100/130 avgas
<https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Avgas>. The O-240 delivers 30%
more power than the O-200 while it weighs only 12% more. It may be
mounted in tractor
<https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Tractor_configuration> or
pusher configuration
<https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Pusher_configuration>.[3][4]
The O-240 was produced under license in the United Kingdom
<https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=United_Kingdom> by Rolls-Royce
Limited <https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Rolls-Royce_Limited>
and was used to power the Reims Aviation
<https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Reims_Aviation>-built Cessna
150s <https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=Cessna_150> constructed
in France <https://www.revolvy.com/main/index.php?s=France> under
license.[5] Rolls-Royce acquired the rights to the O-240, but not the
IO-240 in 1977.[2]
