I'm not satisfied with the lead weights I cast oh so many years ago.
So, polling the list - what did you use to make the mold?

Melting lead is a decidedly unhealthy activity.  The last set of counterweights 
I fabricated for a GlasAir were built with lead shot mixed with milled fibers 
and epoxy resin (West).  Makes them easy to form to any shape you want, then 
sand or file to the final shape and weight, although they will be slightly 
larger due to the lower density epoxy and fiber filler.  You could use flox 
just as well as milled fibers.
