Cc: jeb <n12...@cybermesa.com> Subject: KR> aileron balancing I'm not satisfied with the lead weights I cast oh so many years ago. So, polling the list - what did you use to make the mold?
------------------ Melting lead is a decidedly unhealthy activity. The last set of counterweights I fabricated for a GlasAir were built with lead shot mixed with milled fibers and epoxy resin (West). Makes them easy to form to any shape you want, then sand or file to the final shape and weight, although they will be slightly larger due to the lower density epoxy and fiber filler. You could use flox just as well as milled fibers. -Jeff Scott Cherokee Village, AR _______________________________________________ Search the KRnet Archives at https://www.mail-archive.com/krnet@list.krnet.org/.
