Olsen, When I first read your post I quickly dismissed it as too far outside reality to respond to - and those who did respond were less than kind.
This list has a tendency to be troll-ish, so I’ll try to be a little more constructive. Most KR’s are too small and have too little hp to be practical for the missions you describe. However, the KR-2S with a o-200 may fill your requirements nicely. Its probably the most performance out there on an o-200. You can search KRnet.org for more info on them. This is a youtube I made when checking one out that was for sale ($15,000): https://youtu.be/k5kWkv-Es_s It used to have a BRS parachute that has since been removed. It had a o-200 engine, climbed quickly with 2 aboard, and cruised at 170mph! The KR-2s with a Rotax 912 is a great airplane with very good performance and the 912 has come to earn a lot of respect for reliability and power/weight. Perhaps the only downside on the 912 is price. The KR was designed as a budget performer - epitomized by the VW engine. The Motorav engine looks great - saw it at OSH this year - but there isn’t much experience with them yet. Here are some pictures of it: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/KRaircraft/photos/albums/1144680757 http://www.motorav.com Same goes for a number of other engine options such as UL: http://ulpower.com/en/engines/ul260 KRnet.org is a great source of info. It should be the first place you look to understand the issues with KR aircraft. Within it, the KR newsletters are a particularly rich (if a little dated) source of builders experience: http://www.krnet.org/newsletter/ Cheers, Owen > On Oct 21, 2017, at 9:00 AM, krnet-requ...@list.krnet.org wrote: > > From: Orson <orso...@gmail.com <mailto:orso...@gmail.com>> > To: krnet@list.krnet.org <mailto:krnet@list.krnet.org> > Subject: KR> First post - Floridian newbie potential builder - KR2 > Message-ID: <7b83ecaf-92c3-46d0-995c-c8e1e1ced...@gmail.com > <mailto:7b83ecaf-92c3-46d0-995c-c8e1e1ced...@gmail.com>> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 > > Hello and thank you in advance for any responses. > - Long time lurker/ first time poster.
