Thanks Mark that answers the engine length part and the other question
(and I did an archives search) would be ignition.  Actually, I had
kind of ruled out the original belt-drive magneto setup without really
considering it. When in fact it may be the way to go with an added
electronic ignition like great planes low profile secondary ignition
distributor.  That would allow me to stay to plans and cover any mag
belt failure.

Thoughts on this or any other recollections on the channel aluminum
instead of rear case setup?
