I built one using a small square electric heater.  I put an aluminum plenum
on the front of it with a 2" hose flange on the front and a 2" "heat relief"
hole back near the heater.  Without the relief hole, it would cut off due to
overheating.  Now I just put the SCAT hose from the plenum into the opening
under the cowling.  It works well and keeps the entire engine compartment
really toasty, but is not very efficient.  So I was thinking of getting one
of these.  Has anyone ever used something like this?

Why do I need to preheat here in the south?  Roy says to not take off with
the OT less than 120 degrees.  That consumes a lot of 100LL for that warm up
time even when you are starting at 40 degrees.
