Hello,Happy Holidays I just got to fly again last evening after about 5
weeks. I had developed a shimmy in the nose wheel and had it apart trying to
figure it out. While it does not seem to be any major issue I wanted to make a
report to allow other to concider life expectance of an assemblly. There was
some general wear on the alum axle tube as well as a little bit of elongation
of the hole that the AN3 bolt goes through the fork on each side. I also found
one wheel bearing had gone bad and while not seized it was very rough. I
shimmed the holes and installed new bearings. Balanced the tire and rechecked
the alignment of the front axle relative to the axis' of the plane. I did a
quick around the pattern and it rolled out perfectly smooth so I think it is
good to go again. The time frame for mine is basicly 7 years, 785 hours, or
1000 take off and landing cycles. What ever your most comfortable making the
anology to.Have a great day,Joe HortonCoopersburg, PA
