Adam,   I have done it both ways, scratch built and finished someone else's 
project. I suggest you build your own boat. That way you can have the width, 
and length  most comfortable for you. I have not done a KR2S but have added 
almost 2 feet of length on to a KR2 boat...widening it by 4" as well. Now is 
the time to plan and research...read the newsletters, ask lots of questions 
and exercise your imagination,  reasonable judgment, good workmanship  and 
you can be assured of that "quality and dependability".


   My question is.. What would be the most cost effective,
retaining quality/dependiblity?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
