A friend in Australia had his side opening KR2 canopy open in flight, it was belted hard over onto the inner wing, this caused loss of lift on that side, and out of control decent. He managed to do a very hard controlled landing caused damage to his KR2 and well as his back. He told me his back was saved from severe damage by the 6 inch foam padding under his seat. this was squashed to less than 2 inches and took most of the impact.
