Life is a bowl of strawberry's (I don't like cherry) but if you wait the bowl
will spoil. I pulled Les Palmer's KR out of the hanger 2 weeks ago and started
cleaning it up to fly. I bought a C310 3 months ago and just after I brought
the
KR home I took the 310 to dinner with my wife on board. About 5 min out the
left
engine started to get hot so I turned around and came home. Left engine #6
melted piston #4 collapsed rings and #2 burnt valves center bearing spun.
Injectors plugged up, engines have 1600 hrs on 1500 tbo wife said find a low
time pair and install. 1 engine is in know. The point is she said sell 1 of the
other planes and the KR and Bellanca Cruiseair are the only 2 flying and I wont
sell the cruiseair. You need to be comfortable flying a KR the one advantage is
the gear is 8' from out side of wheels so it is not really squirrelly it is a
nose drager. I need to recope $11000. This KR is heavy 940 lbs Has a EJ22 150
hp
Subaru. I put about 100 hrs on this plane including the first 30 hrs of test
flight. I have seen 200 mph it needs some sanding and painting. This plane
lands
between 75 and 80 mph so you need to be comfortable with speed. It has a wood
prop that is a little to big so that could be changed. If anyone is interested
contact me directly so we don't flood the site. Please do not call or email
unless you are serious. For those that don't know Les He built his KR straight
back from the firewall and moved the seat to the middle. If need be I can fly
it
to you if you don't live 2000 miles away, just pay return expenses. Name is
Randy Smith 940-368-7973
