Hi Russ, Have you tried connecting a heavy duty car battery? does that turn the motor?
A over powerful starter will not work with a small aero battery, the internal resistance of a small battery will limit the current flow through the starter. Just something to think about. Does anyone know what starters are being used on the larger VW engines? I sure do hate to hand prop to get the engine started.
