They definitely are female. It's an Aurora bearing MW-3 (equivalent to Heim HF-3) and Aircraft Spruce list them for $5.75 each. The Spruce site doesn't have a diagram of the Aurora part but they do for the Heim equivalent. No doubt they'd be happy to confirm over the phone or through their online chat before you buy.
