Be aware with doing something like this, that polymers can creep when 
subjected to a constant strain (exacerbated by heat).  Delrin (acetal 
homopolymer) is particularly creep resistant for a plastic, but it still 
will.  I don't know how long you have been flying with this 
configuration, but if it hasn't been very long, I would keep a very 
close eye on the tightness of those bolts.  The actual bolt won't 
loosen, but the thickness of the spacer may decrease over time.  
Obviously the lower mounts would show signs first.  Just another thing 
to thoroughly check at annual, not that you don't already check the 
engine mount bolts :-)  Not trying to scare anyone, or say it won't 
work...  Just bringing to light a possible issue.

I suggest that anyone using a spacer make them from aluminum or other 
metal.  If you don't have access to a machine shop, or can't otherwise 
make them, I would be happy to cut some on the lathe.
