KRnetHeads, It's been a very long time since I DROVE into SNF, so can somebody enlighten me as to the process of camping? It just so happens that I'm in northeast Florida on business on Monday and Tuesday, so I'm seriously considering driving to the meeting, then down to Lakeland and camping Tuesday night. I have the address for the parking lot (4175 Medulla drive), and have GPS to get there, but the camping lot is a long way from the festivities, as I recall. I'd rather camp in aircraft camping or one of the usual "up for grabs" areas near there, but parking is the question there also. The official policy on parking is that you're not supposed to park overnight in "daily" parking, but I seem to remember people doing it in the past.
And if somebody has a little space at their campsite for a freeloader on Tuesday night, I might come visit. And where would I park overnight while staying on the grounds without getting in trouble...the campgrounds, I assume? I'd likely leave Wednesday afternoon and drive back home.
