Using the Quality theory of passively reject/actively accept, your annunciators/lights should be set to light Green and Good. That way if you have a failure of the system that light goes dark and it should get your attention. It's better to respond to a false failure (burned out bulb/shorted sensor) than not be aware of a failure.
