Does the light only come on when it detects a radar signal? What if I press the "Ident" button? I finished the install today and turned it on while in the hangar and can't tell if it powers on or not. I bought it used (yellow tagged) about 10 years ago and today is the first time it has had power applied. It's been too long since I've flown with a transponder and can't remember the operating mode but I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling about this.
