Hi Glen
I am the proud owner of a Thorp T-18 and two KR2 aircraft. If you can fly
the Thorp, the KR2 should be no problem. With the Thorp it is easy to get
the speed down to the correct number (100 mph) and you can land even if the
speed is not 100%.
With the KR2 you must get the speed down in time. If you sit on finals at
90mph you may have to go around as the little plane will float and eat a 1.2
km runway for breakfast. My Thorp cruise at 150 knots and the KR 150 mph.
Thorp 160 Hp and the KR2 only 80 Hp. The KR2 is much more gentle in the
stall at about 52 mph where the Thorp drops a wing very fast at about 70 and
sometimes flick over to scare the you to death.
Regards from South Africa
