Gathering attendees,
I checked with Chris Collins this morning and the dates of Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29 are available for the 2012 Gathering at Mt.Vernon. This will hopefully make it possible for Dan Diehl and Marty Roberts to attend and join us for the 40th anniversary of the KR. To my knowledge, Dan built the second flying KR2, Ol' Blue, and has supported the KR movement for many years until recently handing over the responsibility to Steve Glover. Marty did much of the flight testing of the Diehl gear and upgrading to the 0-200 and has given hundreds of rides to KR builders at past Gatherings. On a personal note, my first ride in a KR was with Dan in 1990 and my second ride was with Marty a year or two later. It would be great to have Dan and Marty at the Gathering and honor them for their many years of service to the cause. Unless I hear of major conflicts in the next few days, these dates will be the official dates for the 2012 KR Gathering. Mark your calenders and make your plans to attend.
