Try a decent quality air powered die grinder. They usually come with both 1/8" and 1/4" collets, so you can use all your favorite dremel bits, but can also use the larger 1/4" shank cut off and grinding tools for cutting larger areas. Mine has lasted through building 3 planes now. I've never found the need to own a Dremel with this tool handy.
