I used Jet Hot on the exhaust that is on the VW engine that I happen to have
up for sale. I can tell you that the exhaust external temperature is far
less than without the coating and the exhausts are still in good condition
after many years.

Regarding the guarantee. when I got the pipes for the Corvair coated, they
gave me a xxx year guarantee. I asked what happened to the lifetime
guarantee. They no longer do that. However they are definitely easy to
work with when you need to get your pipes coated. It is also expensive,
over $200 for my Corvair pipes.

Regarding the heat issue. I have come to realize that this is a good thing
and a maybe not so good thing. Good that the heat stays in the exhaust, but
when you want to pull carb heat or cabin heat, it can be an issue. My
Corvair pipes look great, but if I ever have to get new ones, they will be
stainless because of the need to be able to pull heat off the pipes.
