Well prior to the gathering I had no plans to finish the KR in my barn aka
the "mouse trap" but since returning from another AWESOME time at Mt Vernon
I decided that I would drag the plane out and give it a shot. I pulled off
the old firewall and took a 2180 vw off a Corby starlet and I'm headed out
for new plywood today to replace the firewall. I or I guess we since my 15
year old is helping would really like to have the front end repairs done and
the engine hung and get the first run on the engine before turkey day in
November. And I guess since Lee is so busy helping everyone else with their
KR work I will have to do all my composite work myself....thanks buddy,
actually he is going to do a pair of wheel pants I got from John B. he mouse
trap will make it to the gathering next year if I have to tow it. About
three years ago I decided I was going to slow working on airplanes and focus
more on my two boy's activities in their lives and believe me they have
many. Well that has not changed I just found a way to do both...get them
interested in airplanes and working on them. Even the wife thinks working in
the barn on airplanes is a good idea. It really was great seeing everyone
this year and it would be awesome to see 40 KR's at Mt Vernon next year.
