It's been kind of quiet today, so let me throw this out there. Joe Horton and
I flew out to the Corvair Wings and Wheels thing at Barber Field in northern
Ohio last weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised at how many nice airplanes
were there, not to mention a couple of award-winning Corvair cars. Hosts Pete
Klapp and Ron Willett were great hosts as usual. The Time Machine allowed me
to fly up Saturday morning and back again Sunday morning, which ain't bad for a
trip from Alabama to Lake Erie (less than 3.5 hours with a headwind both ways,
and a whole lot more fun than driving!).

In other news, I drove the family (weather wasn't optimal for flying the KR)
down to the Cape for the last Shuttle launch of the Atlantis. We were pretty
close, NASA's causeway. There's a picture of that at the top of my sunset
page, http://www.n56ml.com/sunsets/ . Speaking of that, there are a few new
sunset pictures there as well.

I guess I'm falling down on the job as far as list participation goes, but I
pay attention and will pipe up if I feel compelled to intervene. At the moment
everything seems "lovely" (in British parlance).

OSH is next weekend, and the KR Forum will be in the usual place at the usual
time, Monday the 25th, 1:00 to 2:15 in Pavilion 2 (the GAMA Pavilion) in the
Forum area. I wish I could say something other than the usual scenario, me
standing up there trying to entertain builders and pilots, but I can't make
promises. And we all know I'm not much of an entertainer! Maybe we can get
the pilots up there again as a committee to present more than just my view of
the KR world. We'll see what we can do. Joe Horton and I plan on flying in on
Sunday, and Mark Jones as well. Fair warning for those who complain of finding
no KRs on the premises later in the week...my current project (which is
indescribably cool) dictates that I head back on Tuesday or Wednesday, and I
believe Joe and Mark Jones have the same plans. I think we'll be parking in
the homebuilt camping area adjacent to the forum area. It's awfully
convenient. Come join us.
