www.sportsmansguide.com sells folding seats made for boats that look light and maybe adaptable to aircraft. Other companies no doubt sell them also. These have cushions and look pretty nice. They also are not that expensive. They probably could be mounted on a rail system to provide forward and back adjustment. If they are suitable, they could save a lot of work and look decent also.
