I'll put in an opinion for what it is worth. I built my KR2S pretty close to plans and am pretty happy with it. Just the RAF48 airfoils and VW engine. I went flying again this morning with our "Breakfast Club" and I really enjoy flying this great little airplane. When I tell folks I built it for less than $15K, most people are stunned - they have drank the RV Koolaid and don't believe it can be done for what we in the KR community are investing. I certainly hope Rand and Steve figure out how to keep the plans selling. I'd also love to see the plans modernized as well, but don't know that will happen unless Rand sells the rights over to someone.

With all the modifications that have been made over the years by all the builders (finished and in process)... is the KR series as currently built and flown really still the same aircraft?
