Hi Craig I just made a new panel for one I am refurbishing. I used 6mm birch 7 ply. Expensive, but easy to cut with a hole cutter fitted into a hand held drill and looks gorgeous after a Baltic Pine tinted varnish finish .....
Oh .... and I nearly forgot to say that the new wood panel with cut-outs, varnished but nothing fitted weighs under 1 kg compared with 1.6Kg for the aluminium original (which had more and bigger cut-outs) Regards Martin rocketdri...@optusnet.com.au
