I have used steel braided brake lines (which actually have an inner tube made of some kind of plastic) for years on all my racing motorcycles. They work great and dramatically improve brake feel for racing applications. They don't overheat and cause fading. But I'm not sure that is a problem on a KR2 brake system. i do know they recommend and I have always used DOT brake fluid in them without any problems. Sometimes I have gone for over 5 years without changing brake fluid with no ill effects.
