Hey Guys, I posted a message earlier this week about going to florida and I just wanted to finish up the story a little bit. This little flying vacation was planned nearly a year ago when it appeared that work was going to be slow for this winter. It was based on scheduling shoulder surgery after taking all the flights for the fall which included the KR Gathering and the Corvair College. It developed into a little bit more when I decided I had better visit my parents in Florida and then Mark L's bit of bad luck so i committed to flying over to help him out and then back to South Carolina and then back home to PA. So the actual itenerary ended up looking like this:Wednesday -- left KUKT at 6:45 am-- arrived at KBNL at 10:15--- departed KBNL 11:30 to 7FL4 and visited for awhile-- departed and continued on to X50 arriving about 4 pm for my mom to pick me up and spend the next day with familyFriday--- Departed X50 at 6:45 am and arrived at M38 abotu 3:40 latter to help Mark-- We spent a pretty long day getting to where it looked doable for the next morning--Saturday morning we were up early and at the hanger by 6 am. by about 10 am His plane was out and ready to start. Multiple little problemsdid not let us leave M38 until about 12:15--- arrived at KBNL after another 2:15 I did give one ride to a local teeenager for another 20 min flight at KBNLSunday morning-- it was a cold night and i delayed our depature by an hour because I had to preheat to get started- ( I may reinstall the primer that i had originally built )- We departed KBNL at about 10:30 am with a couple low passes. I headed north and Mark headed west.about 3:45 latter i arrived at KUKT.What a great flying vacation-- I flew a total of 15.6 hours and covered about 2,500 miles, I burned about 75 gallons of fuel and used a full bottle of O2. The total fuel burn average was 4.8 gph. The average ground speed was just over 160 for the entire average this included many climbs to altitude and a number of high speed low passes and some circling sight seeing. I am one happy guy right now and i hope it holds me over for the next 3 months while i recover from the surgery which is schedule for this week. I may get in a finial flight local just for a little more fun.Ya all fly safe and have fun building and flying --IT IS AWSOMEJoe HortonCoopersburg, PA. ____________________________________________________________ Globe Life Insurance $1* Buys $50,000 Life Insurance.
