Yes I have an aerocarb, The carb had the mod for sticky carb from the begining. 
I am pulling it apart also before i fly again, I have about 550 hours on the 
carb with out any problem, If it is in the carb I am betting more on dirt in 
the slide. It also does not become unlocked when the engine is shut down.

Joe what carb are you using? Just for your info I was using a aero carb on my 
2180 VW kr2 for about fifty hours when I had a similar problem. Locked up twice 
on final ! It was the aero carb ,only locked up when engine was running. I 
sanded the slide about .20 thousands. Been working great for the last 100 hours.
