I tried three different locations for my static port. I started out using the 1/4" tubing called out in the plans and hanging below the wing. That one was the worst by far, but that may be because it was situated between the wing and the tire. I then tried mounting a pair of ports on the aft fuselage and joined by a tee, but that one still wasn't quite accurate. Then I moved them forward to about half way between the firewall and the front spar, again joined with a tee, and that location gives me perfect agreement between "corrected" indicated airspeed and GPS speeds. Oh, and I've also tested cockpit as ambient static port, and that's off quite a bit also.
