I'm sorry to report that based on the article below it looks like Jim won't be coming to the Gathering this year, although from a recent posting regarding finding his way to the Country Inn from the airport he clearly intended to.
They have his name as Charlie in the article . . . typical news reporting accuracy. I did the maiden flight of his extremely well-built KR last August (2009) and it was a joy to fly, and Jim and wife were a real pleasure to get to know. I stayed with them in their beautiful Cameron Park house while we did the flights and all I can say is the whole experience was a treasure. It doesn't look like the plane is that badly damaged and it looks like Jim is off the critical list, so maybe everything will get patched up.
