I just went through this with a Pacer wind shield that has been sitting for 
about 20 years. The paper/glue wouldn't come off with any of the solvents we 
tried. My 80 year old retired glass guy said most glues in the glass industry 
will come right off with denatured alcohol. Mine was an easy deal......
