Regretfully Rick passed away this last summer. I have taken over the project.
The wing tanks were made from irrigation tubing squeezed somehow into a D shape
and are mounted behind the front spar. I wish I could have seen them before
they were built in. At this time I still haven't found where they are vented,
but am working on the fuselage getting it ready for paint and haven't spent
much time with the wings. I have talked to the man who welded them up for Rick
but it was several years ago and he doesn't have much information. As near as
I can tell, they were made from 8 in Al pipe and each is four feet long. Today
we were looking inside with a friends new toy (sorry, tool) which has a light
and camera on the end of a long flex tube about 3/16 in in dia. Made by Snap
On tools. I couldn't determine much but did see that the tank has a baffle.
What type of stuff do you rub on your elbows and shoulders at night so that you
can face another day of sanding?
