I wouldn't get in a big rush to buy a set of Clevelands. In my opinion
there are other brake systems that are less expensive and more aerodynamic.
I'll let others make specific recommendations, but the thing I dislike most
is the way the brake disk and caliper make the whole wheel assembly much
wider. You could argue that the disks are hung out there for cooling, but
fairing mine in like I did probably negates that. My original brake pads
saw 2000 sloppy landings and as many as 12 touch and goes in a row, not to
mention something like 75 high speed taxi runs before I ever flew it (but no
wheel pants at that point). I just replaced my original brake bads a few
months ago, and there was still pleny of material left on them. I have to
brake every time I land due to the short strip I land on. Maybe I just
wrote a testimonial for Clevelands, but I've seen KRs with other systems
(Obrien, GPASC, etc) that are far more compact and apparently effective
enough for KR work.
