It's a Type 1, almost certainly, and is probably an "1835". I'm pretty sure HAPI never built a Type 4. To be sure, see the picture at the bottom of http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/kvw.html, which is a Type 4. Lots of differences, but the easiest to spot is the area above the crank on the front where the oil filler is.
