As far as I'm aware that regulator only really operates when the oil is cold
and stops the engine from over pressurising components like the oil filter.
Once the engine is hot it doesn't do much at all, it only regulates
(bypasses) at a set maximum pressure. If your engine is not quite so new the
oil pump will not be able to reach this maximum pressure with hot oil. The
only sure fire fix is new bearings and a new oil pump.

A quick and easy way to increase the presure is to pull the sping out and 
pull it to strech it out a little bit.  Just put it back in and that should 
dothe trick.
