Hi guys and girls;
I have examined pictures from the inside of my firewall (I haven't been back to the airport yet) to see if I could see the source of all the heat that I experienced the other day while flying but I didn't see anything obvious like a heat duct or anything. I was flying with my shoes off (just socks) so that I could feel the rudder pedals without getting into the toe brakes accidently which has got me into trouble in the past and the pedals got so hot that I couldn't put my feet on them for more than a second or two which made landing a real challenge but I made it OK. Then after I got stopped I put my shoes back on to taxi back to the hanger. I may have to buy some special shoes for flying if I cannot get rid of the heat source. Anyway, I thought about wrapping the exhaust pipes with a heat wrap of some kind to reduce the radiant heat thrown off by them. I saw some at a local speed shop but did not take time to investigate or ask questions about it. Anybody have the same problem or have any suggestions?
