Very well put, Mike! I'm on a VW Scirrocco list that uses the same setup. Nobody EVER bothers to delete the excess verbage, headers, flotsam, and jetsam when they reply to a message. It makes the list virtually useless (and very painful) if you're on the digest. As a result, I read a few messages every month or so when there's no action on KRnet or CorvAircraft, or when I have a lot of time on my hands and nothing but a computer to occupy myself. Maybe it's a good time to remind folks of the rules, which are at the link at the bottom of every email, http://www.krnet.org/info.html . One of them is to please add your first and last name and some idea of where you're from to your emails. Most email software that's worth using has this feature, called "signature".
