I just want to say that any of you who are frustrated with the building or
completion of you kr2 or s let me just say this. I started on my "S" in 94'
completed the building 4.5 years later, put the latest soob developed engine in
it after goobs of money. after a few hours of ground testing getting ready for
the D.A.R. and go test flying , through a rod out the side destroying the whole
engine. Frustrating?, you bet. Then money died out almost sold the completed
airframe with panel (no paint). Years went by which included the misery and
aggravation of staring at my
engine-less baby. This creation, which my wife and I broke our butts working
on, sweating on, bleeding on, was still sitting unfinished in a hangar.
Then one day some light appeared on the horizon, just a glimmer but a light
anyway, I received (well bought) a corvair engine. Many months passed just
looking at this power plant, waiting to be resurrected into the heart of my
baby. I had the crank work down with the appropriate modifications to it. This
past month although not a giant step but one of those infinitesimal baby steps,
I got pistons and rings. The cylinders are being worked on to receive it's new
muscle and soon with the shining light of the airplane gods above, I will leap
towards the next of many steps in the completion of my dream. (a litlle poetic)
Any one who is sitting frustrated and looking to dump years of toil and
sweat, don't do it. I have been waiting for over fifteen years to get in the
air and will succeed, you can too.
