I was the first guy to try it, and I think it would have worked if I'd have simply remembered to push the button to start it taking data. My guess on the second try was he was using a setup with too much distance between prop and optical sensor or because the reflective tape was on the blade (which doesn't work as well as on the spinner backing plate), but that's just a guess. Setting it up in the shade of a hangar works best so you can actually see the red dot on the back of the spinner (or prop blade) and know exactly where to put the tape.
