Mark,
Why not go al the way and just produce and sell the airplanes instead of the
planes. It seems the LSA market is hopping, but full of overpriced
airplanes. Since your talking economy and with the relatively inexpensive
cost of
building the current (KR2) versions you could probably produce flyable
airplanes for less than half the lowest priced LSA on the market so far, and
still
make a good profit on each airplane.
Just a thought :)

Maybe this would be a good time to announce that I am designing a new
airplane for myself right now, which I intend to sell plans and parts for
after the design proves itself. I will not offer anything for sale until
the plane is built and thoroughly test flown though. I've been spending my
nights in England refining the concept, and am now working out the
aerodynamics. I'm also incorporating what I've learned from the
modifications that I and others have made and flown, and will make sure it
is LSA compliant so I can fly without a medical in the future if necessary.
This may sound funny, but my emphasis with this one will be economy, not
speed, especially given LSA top speed limitations. I don't want to go into
any more details, because there are some folks on this list who will copy my
intent, so please don't ask. I'm not sure how long it will be before it
flys, but it'll be considerably quicker than I built the last one! Claire
has already volunteered to be order taker and shipper, so response will be
immediate...
