I don't add to the notes on the krnet but only rarely. I do however read the ones submitted every day and enjoy all of the input and good information that can be gleaned from the various ones submitted. But, today I just updated my web page with new photos of my KR2 and just had to share them with the rest of you. The address is: http://www.sharkdriver.zoomshare.com. If you want to see the photos simply click on the "photos" section and there are several albums to see. I added an album of the fiberglas tail fairing that I made as well as an album showing the construction of my carbon fiber canopy frame. I had a side hinged one made of fiberglas but due to an unfortunate incident the plexiglas got cracked. I bought another plexiglas bubble from the Airplane Factory down by Dayton, Ohio and with the new layup I can't believe how much stiffer the carbon fiber is. The day I picked it up I got to help form a new canopy that was being molded and that was a neat experience. I also have added pictures of the carbon fiber layup of the seat bottom. It has two layers on the bottom with 1/2 " of foam in the middle and then two more layers on the top. It is stiff enough to stand on when climbing in the plane and didn't need any extra bracing underneath. It was designed to hook over the front and rear spars and really fits well.
Check out the site and let me know what you guys think. I have pulled the wings back off and put up a portable 10' X 20' garage over the fuselage for the winter inside my hangar. My wife bought me the garage last Christmas so I could work through the winter months. I can heat it up with a 50,000 BTU salamander keresone heater but I can't heat my 42' X 34' uninsulated hangar. On a 20 degree day I can get the garage heated up to close to 60 degrees. I plan on installing a Ray Allen servo in the elevator this winter for the trim tab and want to get an antenna installed in the rear of the fuselage. I am planning on putting wing tip lights on it too before next spring. Next spring I hope to have it ready for the multiple coats of primer/filler that it will need and then you know what?......SAND, SAND, SAND, and then SAND some more! A lot of you have been there before, right? I would appreciate any feedback on the pictures. Thanks. Neal Hornung lt1corve...@earthlink.net EarthLink Revolves Around You.
