Dan and other 0-200 pull starter users,
Make sure the starter switch is adjusted properly and that you are getting full engagement of the starter gears. Mine was not set up properly when I got the engine and in mere moments I had ruined some $400 gears in the accessory case. Fortunately, a friend in the EAA chapter had the gears and let me have them at a reasonable price. There is a setup procedure for the starter on the web or in the overhaul manual, I don't remember which. You want the gear teeth engaged before the switch makes contact. I used my own procedure that I won't go into for liability reasons. :-) Larry Flesner
