I spent a couple of hours talking to Peter at Serpentine. He and his hangar mate (also a BD5) put on quite a show for us later in the day. They took off and flew an aerobatic show for us, entirely in formation just a few feet apart. Here's a shot of him on takeoff, which was pretty quick, at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/australia/070504198m.jpg . His gear sucks up in about a second, and only a few feet off the ground. Peter's also a KR builder. He has one upside down in his hangar that he's doing some very innovative lightweight glass fabrication on. His BD5 had a 1500cc (I think that's right) Honda Civic engine it. You can see from the photo where the turbo had discolored the paint on the side. It was a very impressive BD5. I have a lot more pictures of it that I'll post later. I'm glad Peter made it out alive. Despite the discussion we had on CorvAircraft a few weeks ago, he said it was an easy plane to fly. His has the Riblett wing on it.
