That would have made it a little shorter than 14', since the longeron material comes 14' long from Wicks, and AS&S also, I believe. That would be about 24" longer than a stock KR2S. I saw one in Australia that is being built that way by Wayne Bone. See http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/australia/070504147m.jpg . It's a beautiful plane with nice proportions, but one extra bay (14") is probably the easiest way to build it, and that'd be plenty, I think. > Also you once used some aileron hinges that you didnt like cause it > produced drag on one side when turning... do you still have those hinges? > If you > do, willing to sell them? Those hinges are kind of busy holding my ailerons on right now, so I'll probably keep them. They were made from a special extrusion that I had made for my real job, which just "happened" to be perfect for the aileron job as well. We ordered a mill run of 1000', so I figured there would be all kinds of extra material left over when the job was done, but they went to the recycler without me noticing, so that angle no longer exists. There's no problem with one side having more drag than the other...you must have gotten that from the definition of differential ailerons that I gave once, but they do hang down a little and create drag that would not be there if I were using piano hinges. If I build another one it'll have piano hinges, which are terribly simple to remove, plenty strong, and low drag. I don't have drawings for my hinges, and would rather they not start appearing on planes with my name on them. There are some good pictures of them on website if somebody wants to copy them out of billet aluminum, but having been there and done that, I wouldn't...
