Yes, that was me. I tried shaking the float around, but it took 50 hours of bouncing around while flying to finally wear the coat of epoxy off the sending unit windings so the gauge would work. Up to that point, I used a stick to check the fuel level before flying, and the EIS fuel totalizer kept me aprised of how much fuel I was burning while flying, so that worked fine. The aux tank sender has never come online, but that's not a biggie. I would recommend to others to use something capacitive (the EIS even has a capacitive gauge option), or at least coat the sending unit windings (if it's similar to the VDO/Mitchell) with Vaseline or something that will dissolve once the tank is filled with gasoline...
