With two cylinders on the same side rich I would suspect that it has something to do with the way the air goes around the bend just before splitting into the first Y. Some carbs, including the Posa, had a piece of sheet metal in the intake tube that had a straight section then a twist to give the air a swirl before it went into the manifold. That might be enough to stir things up to even out your mixture.

As you can see, I have a completely new intake manifold, based off the VW intake castings. So far, I have gotten mixed reviews on how well it is working. The pictures show that, #3 cylinder is running rich and #2 is very lean with #4 quite lean also and #1, a little more on the rich side. The only thing that I can think of, that can possibly cause this, would be a leak under the intake manifold gasket. If anyone has any other ideas, send me an e-mail. All input will be appreciated.
